Helical Steel Piers
Let's Get Started
What Are Helical Steel Piers?
Helical piers are steel shafts with round helix plates that look like a screw and are drilled at an angle into the ground.
Once the helical piers are in the ground, our dirt nerd team excavates around the top of the pier and pours concrete to create a concrete cap on top. However, what goes on top of the helical pier cap is determined by the plan of repair designed by an engineer. Helical steel piers are one of the few foundation repair methods that should only be done when recommended by an engineer, and they should be the ones to design the plan. Thankfully, we have a few of those #dirtnerds on our team.
WHEN TO USE HELICAL PIERS IN TEXAS SOILS
This method of foundation repair is relatively new, high-tier in pricing, but definitely recommended for commercial property owners looking to extend the life of their property indefinitely. Newer commercial builds may have them already, but typically a structure will only come with this type of pier when recommended by an engineer.
